Standing barely a foot tall, pixies resemble diminutive elves with gossamer wings like those of dragonflies or butterflies, bright as the clear dawn and as luminous as the full moonrise. They’re clad in flowery gowns, usually woven by themselves. Pixie names often come from nature, like: Rivergleam, Mustardseed, Peaseblossom, Cypresskim, Pearpowder, Stormfly, Riverfleet or Flitflare.
Curious as cats and shy as deer, pixies go where they please. They like to spy on other creatures and can barely contain their excitement around them. The urge to introduce themselves and strike up a friendship is almost overwhelming; only a pixie's fear of being captured or attacked stays its hand. Those who wander through a pixie's glade might never see the creatures, yet hear the occasional giggle, gasp, or sigh.
Pixie Dust. When pixies fly visibly, a shower of sparkling dust follows in their wake like the glittering tail of a shooting star. A mere sprinkle of pixie dust is said to be able to grant the power of flight, confuse a creature hopelessly, or send foes into a magical slumber. Only pixies can use their dust to its full potential, but these fey are constantly sought out by mages and monsters seeking to study or master their power.
Tiny Tricksters. While the arrival of visitors piques their curiosity, pixies are too shy to reveal themselves at first. They study the visitors from afar to gauge their temperament or play harmless tricks on them to measure their reactions. For example, pixies might tie a dwarf's boots together, create illusions of strange creatures or treasures, or use dancing lights to lead interlopers astray. If the visitors respond with hostility, the pixies give them a wide berth. If the visitors are good natured, the pixies are likely to be emboldened and more friendly.
Magical Dust. You can harvest some of your dust as an action, as part of harvesting the dust you can use it. You can cast the sleep spell. Later, when you reach 3rd level, you can use your dust to cast the invisibility or suggestion spell. When you reach 5th level you can use your dust to cast the fly spell. Each spell is cast at its lowest level. Your spellcasting ability for these spells is Constitution. The harvested dust can be stored until you take a long rest. Once the dust has been used to cast a spell, it is consumed, and you can’t harvest more dust until you take a long rest. You can give your dust to another creature, that can use it as an action, using your spellcasting modifier. If the dust is stolen from you or harvested against your will, it has no effect when used and instead turns the skin a vibrant shade of green. A remove curse spell can end this effect.
Alignment. Pixies are almost always good. As habitual prank-players, one might assume that pixies were more commonly chaotic-good. However, their entry in the Monster Manual lists them as primarily neutral-good.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2, your Charisma score increases by 1 and your Strength score is reduced by 2.
Age. Pixies are fey creatures and as such benefit from extraordinary long lives. Pixies reach maturity around 25 and live up to 1000 years old.
Fey. Your creature type is fey, rather than humanoid.
Fey Ancestry. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Size. Pixies stand between 9 to 14 inches tall and weigh between 4 to 7 pounds. Your size is Tiny.
Speed. Your walking speed is 10 feet.
Earthbound Flight. You have a flying speed of 30 feet. To use this speed, you can’t be wearing medium or heavy armor. Your power of flight is in part sustained by the magic of the earth, and is stronger when you are closer to the ground. You have a flying speed of 30 feet if you are not wearing medium or heavy armor. If you can fly and you end your turn more than 5 feet above solid terrain, you fall until you are five feet above solid terrain, where you may hover unless you choose to fall lower. Any space that is at least 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 feet in area that can fully support your weight is considered solid terrain. As an action, you may hover maintain an altitude of up to 60 feet until the start of your next turn. Your altitude is measured from the closest terrain directly below you that has a connection to the earth (for example, the surface of a lake, a ship floating on the sea, but not something like an airship or magic carpet). Note that the flight essentially has a "land at the end of turn" requirement for the purposes of combat. It's not intended to allow the pixie to avoid hitting the ground if knocked prone or if it has its speed reduced to 0, rather it's intended that convey the altitude that it can maintain under normal circumstances. You may use your pixie flight while wearing any armor that you are proficient in, have the strength to use, and does not impose disadvantage to stealth. You may use your full speed to fly above liquids and still "land" on them. If you fall due to not "landing" you may use your reaction to cast Featherfall on self only. You may use your action and concentration to enter a state of hovering until the end of your next turn. This is not a spell that is affected by counterspell, dispel magic, or anti-magic, (or similar effects) but does still require concentration, which can be broken by taking damage or being incapacitated. At 7th level, You may cast the fly spell at its lowest level once per long rest.
Shrinking Dust. As an action, you can sprinkle fairy dust on an item that you can hold in your hands to reduce its size in all dimensions by one-half for 24 hours. Up to five items may be affected by the dust at the same time. You can dismiss or renew the shrinking effect on an item in your posession as an action. If you shrink an item while you already have five items shrunken, the first item that was shrunken returns to its original size. A bundle of 20 units of ammunition counts as a single item.
Wee Warrior. Weapons made for Medium creatures are too unwieldy for you to use effectively, but if you use your Shrinking Dust to shrink such a weapon it retains all of its game statistics when wielded by you except Size, and you can wield such weapons as if you were a Small creature. You cannot wear armor created for larger races, but suitably sized armor can be found or custom made, and provides the same level of protection as full-sized armor of its respective type.
REDUCED RANGE: Due to its tiny stature, a Fairy must use weapons that are suited for its size. Attacks that a fairy makes with tiny weapons are half of what their full sized equivalent would be to a minimum of 5ft (see warlock familiar's sprite shortbow attack for example) this means that halberds and other reach weapons provide no reach benefit, thrown daggers only have a range of 10/30, and longbows only have a range of 75/300
Invisibilty - at 5th level, you may cast Invisibility at its lowest level, once per long rest.
Languages. You can speak, read and write Common and Sylvan.
Level limits: as Elves: Warr 12, Ranger 15, Mage 15, Cleric 12, Thief 12
