~ World & Lore ~
'Tis a thousand years past since Oes Haearn, the age when Britannia lay shrouded in verdant woods, and the number of Men was scant. In those days, the Dwarves did delve deep for treasures beneath the earth, whilst the Elves held dominion o'er the forests, living in harmony with Nature's grace.
Then did the Men known as the Rhufeiniaid arise, who crossed the seas in great galleys, clad in iron and bringing forth dread siege engines. They did invade Britannia, forcing the Elven druids to flee towards the West, whence they founded the principalities of Cymru. Yet, the Dwarves, ensconced in their mountain strongholds—near invulnerable to assault and choosing wisely to trade with the invading folk—did weather the storm of invasion unscathed, whilst the Elves, in their defiance, met with the sword, their settlements and sylvan realms laid to waste by flame.
In the fullness of time, after ages of oppression, the Rhufeiniaid did retreat from the shores of Britannia, rumoured to defend their own Empire from nearer perils. Thus, now dwell the Elves in the westernmost lands of Britannia, and both Elves and Dwarves eye the mortal Men with a wary distrust.
For this cause, the druidic faith is mostly confined to the Elves of Cymru, and to a lesser degree, to the rare mortal Men who have proven themselves true and earnest in the eyes of the elusive Elves.
