Today, we faced a moment no parent ever wishes to endure. Our dear daughter, Annie, once so innocent and full of wonder, revealed a dangerous side of herself — one that cannot be ignored. Over the past few weeks, we have received reports of strange fires breaking out across the village and surrounding forest. At first, we dismissed it as mere accidents, but tonight, the truth became painfully clear.

We found Annie standing amidst the ruins of what was once a small grove, her eyes glowing with a strange, unnatural light. Flames danced at her fingertips, and her laughter echoed eerily in the night air. It was clear she was the source of the destruction. Her powers, though born of magic and curiosity, have become a threat not only to herself but to everyone around her.

[2026/08/09 15:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: You tug at it, and nearly pull Grolik after it. He screeches a loud "MMMEEEEEEOOOWWWLLLL!!! Grolik just hungry! Grolik sorry!" He starts to run, full tilt, away from you. "Grolik sorry!!!"
[2026/08/09 15:39] Jassie: sighs to herself, "well you could just ask then Grolik..."

[2026/08/09 15:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: You see, of all things, a young girl about, looking quite unconcerned. She's a young, fierce girl with a wild mane of bright red hair and piercing amber eyes that seem to hold a mischievous gleam. She wears a tattered dress and carries herself with a confident, almost wild energy, clutching a ragged stuffed bear, which has clearly seen better days, as it has a button eye missing and looks a little scorched.

[2026/08/09 15:43] Sapphire: "What?" she turns around to watch Grolik. "He was so promising, and now I need to kick him for that."
[2026/08/09 15:44] Sapphire: Oh, young girl, she turns around. "Would you happen to be miss Annie Greyflame, by any chance?"
[2026/08/09 15:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: She blinks and peers at you. "Yes. Who are you?"
[2026/08/09 15:45] Jassie: "we... are just travelling adventurers."
[2026/08/09 15:45] Mecha: I look at Emily."No kicking." before looking back at Annie.
[2026/08/09 15:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: Annie nods. "Are you meanies, or the good guys?"

[2026/08/09 15:46] Jassie: "well I would say we are looking for the meanies for sure."
[2026/08/09 15:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: Annie: "The others said they're the good guys too."

[2026/08/09 15:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: Annie: "Little green people, they yapped like dogs."

[2026/08/09 15:48] Mecha: Talia nods."Well they're someones pet. But yeah they are the bad guys and they're working for a bigger bad guy."

[2026/08/09 15:49] Jassie: oh boy...
[2026/08/09 15:50] Sapphire: Emily kneels down, "Adults can be like that. Everyone saying what's good for them, instead of what's true. Sometimes they don't mean it, sometimes they think they're right while being wrong. It gets hard to be sure, often."
[2026/08/09 15:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: Annie nods solemnly, hugging her teddy bear close.
[2026/08/09 15:51] Mecha: I sigh and nod."Figures they would." Look those guys hurt a good friend of ours and we are hoping to help her. If you don't want to help one side or the other then that's fine. I can just say be careful of them."
[2026/08/09 15:51] Jassie: "Agreed, and do watch your back around them."
[2026/08/09 15:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: Annie nods again, looking as solemn.
[2026/08/09 15:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: But wait! You hear...
[2026/08/09 15:52] Sapphire: "You have a gift for fire, yes?" She asks. "Saw that cabin a while back. Not even my fire magic is that good."

[2026/08/09 15:54] Sonja Bikergrrl: About now you see.... a -lot- of figures, familiar dog-headed kobolds, wandering out from the mist.

[2026/08/09 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: About twenty, clearly, with more behind them.

She looks up at the approaching yippers. "They with you, or would you rather get clear of what all those people with swords are about to try to do to us?"

[2026/08/09 16:01] Jassie: thinks for a moment.... "but if you're covering for now." casts Barkskin on her before going
[2026/08/09 16:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: Annie casually tosses her teddy bear at the lead kobolds, and shouts "Mr Tibbers!" The teddy bear expands rapidly and takes on a much more threatening form, of a -huge- and rather -vicious- bear... he also bursts into flames. You can see the nearest kobolds bursting into flames and running around, and the bear -sweeps- an arm round, sending the front rank of kobolds cartwheeling through the air, trailing flames and screaming "WWWWAAAHHHH!!!"
[2026/08/09 16:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: Annie cackles and points, sending streams of fire hurtling to the kobolds. Some of them flee, two cling to each other yipping in terror, and more than a few are in an advanced state of combustion.
[2026/08/09 16:03] Mecha: Talia is charging in as well. Can't let them have all the fun
[2026/08/09 16:04] Sapphire: She watches, a grin growing on her face. "Well then. You got to them first. Very good show, Annie."
[2026/08/09 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: indeed, why. You'd best hurry, Mr Tibbers is making short work of them.
[2026/08/09 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: Annie: cackles and sends more bolts of fire into the kobolds who are still there.
[2026/08/09 16:05] Jassie: /me looks at this girl, "damn...she is way stronger than us... why did they need us anyways?"

[2026/08/09 16:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: With the kobolds incinerated/bashed/beaten/fled, Annie picks up her teddy bear and hugs it close, smiling with the sweet innocence of a child.

[2026/08/09 16:06] Mecha: I look at Annie."Damn, Mr. Tibbers is pretty cool."
[2026/08/09 16:06] Sapphire: "I think we might be able to learn a lot about magic from each other," she adds, looking over the field. "I was going to hit a bunch of them with an ice storm, if that at all interests you."
[2026/08/09 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: Thalorin appears from the mists. "I see judgement has been passed. And I thank you for looking after my niece, she's all I care about."
[2026/08/09 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: Annie: "Uncle! Mean monsters are gone. These people are nice."
[2026/08/09 16:08] Sapphire: Thalorin the druid, yes?
[2026/08/09 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: That's him
[2026/08/09 16:08] Sapphire: "Ah, I see she already has a mentor," she bows slightly.
[2026/08/09 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: Thalorin: "As promised, I shall aid you. First, please take one of these." (offers a .... lolly... to each of you) "These will aid you, but, beware, the aid they offer is rather random."

[2026/08/09 16:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: It looks like a very, very small gelatinous cube on a lolly stick. There's something shadowy in them; you'll need to consume the lolly to find out what (we can do that next time, or, you can save them)
