In addition to medical skill, it allows one to graft (initially) a single Cypher into yourself to use it as a reusable graft, though it will eventually break down and need to be replaced . Your existing esotaries convert to the new element in damage type, and in Fire's case, you can surround yourself with a seath of flame that does not burn you but does burn people trying to touch you. It's upgrades involve throwing more and different shapes of flame. Lightning has less of a damage focus and more access to mobility and armor.
