Tension mounts as they encounter two dragons—Emeraldis, the manipulative green dragon, and Obsidianis, the cruel black dragon—who are, shockingly, allies in this perilous quest. Mecha dons magical artifacts, including the Dragonforce Gauntlet, while the party prepares for battle. As they near their destination, strange wagon tracks and the sounds of an unknown industry stir unease. Could Emberclaw's forces already be at work? As the adventurers ready themselves for the unknown, the fate of the realm hinges on their next steps.

Sonja suggests bypassing the village and heading cross-country to the mountainside for a better vantage point. While some express concern over splitting the party, Mecha proposes a tactical approach—one group distracts the enemy while another sneaks in from behind. Sonja and the others weigh the risks, agreeing to move cautiously toward the mines. Upon reaching the mountainside, they discover an abandoned trench lined with crude huts, which they cautiously explore for any sign of activity. The tension rises as they realize that the area is not as deserted as it first seemed, and soon, they're under attack from small, hostile creatures armed with catapults and carts. The dragons unleash their devastating powers, leaving the enemy scorched or poisoned. As they regroup, a massive dragon emerges from a cave entrance, signaling the start of a more dangerous battle ahead.

[2025/01/19 14:40] Sonja Bikergrrl: The cave: A small entrance, just big enough for a human to pass through. The tunnel leads in, downwards at an angle, until it opens out into a roughly twenty foot diameter chamber with a man-sized hole in a corner. The place looks essentially abandoned.
[2025/01/19 14:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: Meanwhile, behind and outside, you can hear snarls and hisses and the tremour of the earth as the dragons shift and try to keep each other in sight. It sound like a fight between feral cats is about to break out.

[2025/01/19 14:42] Jassie: looks at her symbol of Selune, before looking up at everyone else saying "maybe I should pray more often everyone... if this is what it gets.""

This subterranean storeroom is a cramped, dimly-lit chamber illuminated by flickering bioluminescent fungi clinging to the damp stone walls. Stacks of mismatched crates and barrels overflow with assorted scavenged goods - rusted weapons, odd trinkets, and provisions like dried mushrooms and pickled roots, all organized in chaotic piles. Gnarled roots and stalactites hang from the ceiling, while a passage leads further into the mountain.

At the center, a makeshift barricade constructed from fallen debris, crates, and rusted metal scraps stands as a crude defense, manned by a handful of small, reptilian humanoids, clad in patched leather armor and wielding rusty weapons, their eyes glinting with malice. They communicate in hushed, chattering tones, occasionally peeking over their makeshift cover to scout for intruders as they lay in wait for any who dare to trespass. The scent of damp earth and the faint sound of dripping water create an unsettling atmosphere, amplifying the tension and faint sounds of dragons roaring and bellowing.

This empty subterranean chamber is a roughly hewn, dimly lit space, its walls adorned with crude banners hanging from the ceiling. The air is damp and musty, filled with the echoes of distant drops of water. In the center, a sandy arena marked by several worn circles intersects with various makeshift training dummies — some fashioned from old armor and others simple wooden poles. Scattered around are the occasional rusty trap or abandoned weapon hinting at past training sessions gone awry.

This chamber, dimly lit by the flickering light of bioluminescent fungi, has jagged stone formations creating natural walls, while makeshift beds woven from straw and tattered hides are strewn around, hinting at the cave's use as a communal living area for the little creatures. Scattered among the beds are the bodies of seemingly lifeless bodies, their expressions frozen in a mix of surprise and fear, suggesting the aftermath of a sudden and deadly encounter. The atmosphere is heavy with tension, as the dim glow and the sight of the fallen hint at a recent calamity, leaving the space eerily silent, save for the rumbling and roaring of fighting dragons echoing in the distance.
